2. Chewing gum

  • Saliva helps to neutralize stomach acid, so try chewing some gum. By chewing you will stimulate the production of saliva which can neutralize the acid and reduce the unpleasantness. It will also make your breath smell better.

3.Baking Soda

  • Most people use baking soda to neutralize heartburn. Don’t use the soda by itself. Mix it up with water first and don’t use too much. When baking soda comes into contact with stomach acid it causes a chemical reaction which produces gas. You should add a bit of lemon juice to neutralize the gas.

4.Vegetable juice

  • Vegetable juices are also a good home remedy. Try making carrot, beet, radish or cucumber juice and drink it. You can just eat raw vegetables if you don’t like vegetable juices. Standing upright can also help with heartburn.

5. Sleeping Pattern

  • If you have problems with heartburn when you are sleeping try to raise your upper body by 10 – 15 centimetres and also try sleeping on your left side.
